Fishing Report – April, 2015

logo-coastal-island1The weather continues to be pretty good and lots of folks are taking full advantage of the beautiful spring days. Fishing the last couple weeks has been very rewarding with some really nice fish in the 10 – 17lb range with a few over twenty pounds. As we move into the second half of April the fishing has picked up over towards the mainland inlets, Twin Islands, Cortez Island and this past week or so the has also been some great fishing down at Bates Beach. <!–more–>

For those wanting to stay closer to home the lighthouse has been steady on the Ebb tide fishing the drift from the hump to the lighthouse again get the gear down just off the bottom depending what part of the drift 150 -250ft. Tomic Plugs have been producing #602, 500, 700, anchovies & spoons both with and without flashers. As of April 1st all of the area has opened for prawning and it has been productive. For those interested in getting an early start on the 2015 fishing season, just give us a call. The weather is cooler but the fish still bite and the boat heaters are on!
